Highlands College runs a number of full-time vocational IT courses with approximately 100 students enrolled. The Foundation Degree Information Technology for Business was launched in 2009, with the support of the BCS, and is proving to be a very successful programme supporting the development of new IT professionals. The BTEC National Diploma (3 A-Level equivalent) is a full-time course with a broad focus covering IT support and service skills, networking technologies, software development, web development and Business Information Systems. The qualification is highly regarded and aims to prepare students to enter the IT industry and/or progress to higher education. In addition, the college offers professional certification courses including: CompTIA (A+/Network+/Security+), Microsoft (MCTS/MCITP) and Cisco CCNA Certifications.
The IT Curriculum Team at Highlands College are keen to provide opportunities to their IT students that increase their awareness and understanding of the IT industry and better prepare them for pursuing their future career. To do this they would like to forge closer links with the IT industry and explore ideas for developing real world IT projects for students to engage in during their studies and identify strategies to best serve your future training and employment needs.
We very much hope that you will be able to participate and look forward to hosting you on Wednesday 22 June at 0800. We will meet you at the Main Reception of Highlands College.
