The BCS Jersey International Section invites you to a briefing, The Value of Business Intelligence’ with our guest speaker John Gamble. Over the past five years Business Intelligence (BI) has grown from being a niche market to a mainstream technology, with all the main vendors now pushing their BI solutions. Intended as introduction to BI, in this session well look at what Business Intelligence is, what technologies are involved, how it is relevant to all organisations today, and the unique value of a BI project to an organisation. We will see that the return on investment goes far beyond the initial requirements.

Speaker

Our speaker, John Gamble, is a Senior BI Consultant at Altius Consulting (CI) Limited. John has been architecting, designing and implementing BI solutions for the past 6 years, specialising in the Financial Services and Oil and Gas sectors. John has also undertaken training and advisory roles. He is based in Jersey and currently heads up Altius Channel Islands office. John has a BSc (Hons) in Computing and IT from the University of Surrey and prior to Altius worked for IBM and a couple of Internet / e-commerce agencies in London and Sydney. John maintains a publicly active blog (http://community.altiusconsulting.com/blogs/johngamble) and his claims to fame include, building MTVs first UK website, building all of IBMs first EMEA websites and, accidentally, turning off all of IBMs Internet and Intranet EMEA web sites!
