The BCS Jersey International Section invites you to a briefing – Business Intelligence in SharePoint 2010 – with our guest speaker John Gamble.

SharePoint 2010 is now officially Microsofts fastest selling server application ever and in the 2010 edition there are a host of new features not least in the BI space. In this talk well take a look at the new BI features including PerformancePoint Services, Visio Services, and PowerPivot, but also consider how Microsoft have improved the sharing and collaboration aspect of Business Intelligence. In this area well see the interaction between SharePoint 2010 and Office 2010 and also show the role Microsoft Office Lync can play in facilitating communication in an organisation.

Our speaker is John Gamble from Altius Consulting. John Gamble is a Principal BI Consultant with Altius Consulting based in Jersey and has been architecting, designing, implementing BI solutions for the past 6 years, specialising in Financial Services and Oil and Gas sectors. John has also undertaken training and advisory roles.

John has a BSc (Hons) in Computing and IT from the University of Surrey and prior to Altius worked for IBM and a couple of Internet / Ecommerce agencies in London and Sydney.

John maintains a publicly active blog (http://community.altiusconsulting.com/blogs/johngamble) and his claims to fame include, building MTVs first UK website, building all of IBMs first EMEA websites and, accidentally, turning off all of IBMs Internet and Intranet EMEA web sites.
